KYF 2024 Promo Video Making Competition

Theme: ‘Karbi Youth Festival: Being 50’

Rules and Guidelines:

Requirements & Eligibility:

  • The video should not be longer than 60 seconds. The 5-second title screen does not count towards this time limit.
  • Entries can be made on an individual or group basis.
  • Only a single Entry per person is allowed and only one winner will be selected.
  • The work should be original without any watermark and should not have been published online before.
  • All entries must either be submitted in English or, if in any other language should include English subtitles.
  • All entries must be submitted in digital format. The submitted copy should be in high resolution in MP4 or MOV Format.
  • The minimum resolution required is HD 720p (1280×720 pixel resolution)
  • Each video clip that is submitted should not exceed 300MB in size.
  • Video entries can be of any genre (e.g., live-action, animation).
  • There is no entry fee.
  • Entries must adhere to the Community Guidelines and not contain any content that is offensive, divisive, or defamatory.
  • Entries should be mailed to info@karbiyouthfestival.in. The deadline for submissions is September 20, 2023 by 12:00 pm IST.

Judging & Awards:

  • Award: Cash prize Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand) and a citation. The winner will be felicitated in the opening ceremony of KYF 2024. The winning video will be displayed on all our social media platforms as well as in the festival as the ‘Official Promo Video’ for Karbi Youth Festival 2024.
  • Besides the winning entry, the 5 best entries selected will be displayed on all our social media platforms as well as played during the festival with due credits.
  • The top 20 entries selected will be given certificates of recognition with due credits.
  • Judges’ decision is final and conclusive and cannot be challenged by the participants whatsoever.
  • No copyrighted materials (music, images, video clips, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.
  • The KYF authority does not accept responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion, or any other reason.
  • Finalist and winning entries for any Award will be showcased on the Competition website. Other entries may also be included in the showcase at the discretion of the KYF authority.

Ownership and Usage Rights:

  1. Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the project remains with the entrant.
  2. All videos that have been received will become the property of KYF authority.
  3. KYF Authority shall have the right to edit, reuse, modify, reproduce or amend the Audio and Video for promotional purposes.
  4. In case of any controversy on a matter not mentioned in the above rules, the Organizers will decide upon appropriate action. The KYF authority’s word shall be final and binding.
  5. By participating in this contest, entrants agree to abide by the terms and conditions thereof as established by KYF authority.

Criteria for Judging:

CREATIVITY

The video should be vibrant with a narrative that exhibits creativity at its best.

30 points

ORIGINALITY

Video clips, music and pictures used should be without any copyright issues.

20 points

RELEVANCE TO THE THEME

The video should reflect the true essence of the festival as stated in the theme. 

50 points

TOTAL POINTs

100 points
